The mycelial network is a sophisticated interwoven membrane and when in combination with a substrate provides high performing acoustic protection. Testing indicates mycelium insulation panels have an acoustic absorption of at least 75% at 1000Hz (road traffic frequency). By comparison, mineral wool will only achieve 40% absorption.
Mycelium is naturally non-flammable, it will only solder and smoke. Testing demonstrates that mycelium releases significantly less heat and smoke during burning. Our biomaterials do not contain any synthetic materials that can cause toxic smoke and quick spread of flames in a fire.

Studies on mycelium bio-based materials demonstrate that they are able to maintain their insulative properties over the course of it’s life and as durable as conventional materials.
Eradicating sick building syndrome caused by poor indoor air quality, with natural materials is our goal. Our mycelium insulation is breathable, which allows moisture to pass through regulating humidity whilst maintaining excellent insulative performance. The building system is suited for thermal bridge free design making it easy to achieve a continuous thermal envelope. Our panels are free of any VOC’s and synthetic ingredients to ensure a healthy and comfortable indoor environment.
We up-cycle agricultural waste into valuable substrates for our growing media. Our biomaterials are completely compostable, and there is no waste as all off cuts can be fed back into our manufacturing process. Our insulation panels perform both thermally and acoustically as one material saving additional materials and costs. Our manufacturing process is regenerative, we remove CO2 caused by the waste streams to store it within the materials. Mycelium requires zero light to grow, at room temperature requiring minimal energy input during manufacturing.
